SMS Notification Terms & Conditions

By enrolling in or participating in the Antillean Adventist University (uaa.edu) SMS Notification Program, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Program Description
The SMS Notification Program provides informational text message communications related to admissions updates, enrollment status, appointment reminders, student services notifications, academic communications, administrative updates, and other important university-related information.
This program delivers informational messages only and does not include marketing, promotional content, or third-party advertising.
2. Eligibility
By opting in, you represent that you are the account holder of the mobile number provided or that you have the account holder’s permission to enroll the number in this program.
3. Consent to Receive Messages
You provide prior express consent to receive SMS messages by voluntarily submitting your mobile number through official university communication channels where SMS consent is clearly disclosed.
Consent is obtained through a clear affirmative action such as selecting an unchecked consent checkbox or submitting a form where SMS consent is explicitly stated.
SMS consent is not a condition of purchase or enrollment.
SMS Opt-In Example (Informational)
Users opt in to receive SMS messages from Antillean Adventist University by entering their mobile phone number on official university forms, including admissions forms, registration forms, contact forms, and Student Information System (SIS) communication preference pages. During the submission process, users must actively select an optional SMS consent checkbox to authorize the University to send informational text messages.
4. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies. Recipients may receive up to 4 messages per month depending on engagement with university services and communication preferences.
5. Message & Data Rates
Message & data rates may apply. Charges are determined by your mobile carrier and are your responsibility. The University is not responsible for any charges incurred from SMS messages.
6. Opt-Out
You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Upon receipt of your opt-out request, you will no longer receive SMS messages unless you re-enroll through an official university channel.

8. Privacy
Mobile information will be used solely for official university communications and will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

9. Carrier Disclaimer
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

The University reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the SMS Notification Program or these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued participation following updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the applicable laws and regulations governing Antillean Adventist University.
