Reference [1st floor]

This collection consists of reference books such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, Bible commentaries, handbooks, and others. Books in this collection are prefixed with REF above the call number. Because the books in this collection are for quick reference and use within the library, they may be borrowed for 24 hours only in special circumstances.

Periodical publications [1st floor]

Journals – This collection contains the latest issues of professional journals, as well as general interest magazines. To use this collection, please request services at the journals desk. These materials are not permitted to be taken outside the Library.

Newspapers – The library has access to the digital version of the newspaper El Nuevo Día. You can also find links to newspapers from other countries on the library’s website.

Circulation [2nd floor]

Materials in the Circulation Collection may be used both inside and outside the library. For your convenience, materials may be browsed and examined on the shelves before being checked out. However, we recommend that you consult the online catalog before going to the Circulation Collection. The catalog will tell you the exact location of the material you are looking for. Books in the Circulation Collection with the prefix SDA above the call number indicate that the author is Adventist and are included among all the other books in this collection.

Puerto Rico Collection [1st floor]

This collection contains general and reference works about Puerto Rico, whether written by Puerto Ricans or not, as well as works of Puerto Rican literature. Books in this collection are identified by the prefix PRICO above the call number. Books in this collection may be borrowed for two weeks.

Reservation [1st floor counter]

The Reserve Collection consists of books that professors have set aside for use by their students. These are identified with the word RESERVE above the call number in our catalog. These materials are available for internal use for two hours and must not leave the library. They are only available for external use as an overnight loan, from closing time until the library reopens the following day.

Youth [1st floor]

These books are of particular interest to children and young adults. The library is located on the first floor, across from the Computer Center. Books in this collection are identified by the code JUV or the letter J and the classification PZ.
