This role is designed for those who wish to become trainers and mentors within geriatric care. By specializing in the educational role, you’ll be able to:

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers to promote autonomy and self-care.
• Develop continuing education programs for health professionals and caregivers.
• Integrate protocols and evidence-based practices into teaching care for older adults.
• Project yourself as a university professor, clinical educator, or consultant specializing in healthy aging

Administrative Role

This role is aimed at those who wish to lead healthcare institutions and programs for the aging population. By choosing this path, you’ll:

• Manage resources and interdisciplinary teams in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community programs.
• Design and oversee quality programs and safety protocols for older adults.
• Ensure accreditation and compliance with national and international health standards.
• Position yourself as a nursing director, nursing home administrator, or public health policy leader.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Minimum GPA of 2.80.
• Active professional license and membership in the Puerto Rico College of Nursing Professionals.
• Curriculum Vitae + 2 letters of recommendation.
• Admission interview (virtual or in person).
• Certification of criminal records.
• Admission fee: $30.
