Certification in Autism Education
Antillean Adventist University offers the first fully distance learning Autism Education Certification, which can be completed in as little as one year.
Did you know that the incidence and prevalence of people with autism in Puerto Rico is one of the highest in the world and is estimated to continue to increase? The estimated population of people with autism on the island, of all ages, is 28,745. By 2020, the population of children and youth with this condition registered with the Puerto Rico Department of Education, between the ages of 3 and 21, was 6,950. Additionally, studies reveal that annually, 1 in every 62 babies born on the island has a high probability of being diagnosed with autism. This certification will allow you to train to manage and contribute to the development of the student population diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
